SUPPORTING A NEW FUTURE FOR NORDIC AND BALTIC TOURISM

RECOVERY

It began with the 'Baltic Bubble' and the easing of restrictions between Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and the gradual resumption of airline routes within the region.  From June 15th, many of the regions borders are now open with no quarantine restrictions.

As domestic tourism remains the short and medium term focus, continued marketing and promotion will be crucial to keep travel and destinations top of mind among potential travellers to ensure future travel returns.

Early indications show that the Nordic region is well positioned to appeal to the post-covid international  traveller offering destinations that are safe, healthy, relatively uncrowded and that have shown to have managed the crisis well.

THE NORDIC REGION

The Nordics, by our definition, is the geographical and cultural region of Northern Europe that includes Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, as well as Greenland and the Faroe Islands. It also includes the Åland Islands, Svalbard and Jan Mayen archipelagos.

Although not strictly part of the Nordics, we also add Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia as we believe inclusion of the Baltic region is essential in the future development of the region as a whole.
